Ms. Babiak is a former Managing Partner at Ernst & Young LLP (EY) where as an “intrepreneur” she built or created businesses in then pioneering areas including cyber security, regulatory/public policy, and climate change and sustainability. She currently serves as independent board member and committee chair on a portfolio of corporate boards including Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. ($140 billion in revenues) and Bank of Montreal (with assets of over $1.3 trillion).  Previously, she served on the board of directors of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, an international SaaS/business-information group listed on the London Stock Exchange until it sale to private equity; as a non-executive director of Royal Mail Holdings plc as it transitioned from government ownership to a FTSE 100-listed company; Logica plc until its acquisition by CGI; and GlobalLogic, a private equity owned digital product development services company until its acquisition by Hitachi for $9.6 billion.

Richard began his financial career at ICFC (now 3i plc), which was then the principal source of equity for UK unquoted companies. He was an early pioneer of the Venture Capital Trust, founding and successfully exiting Baronsmead PLC. He was actively involved in the growth of the venture capital industry as Chair of the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA).

More recently, Richard co-founded Endeavour Ventures Ltd which has led over £200m in early stage investment. As an investor director, Richard's portfolio includes Blue Prism plc (current market cap £1.24 billion) achieving a 150x exit for investors and Ebury Partners (targeting a £2 billion valuation at IPO) achieving 36x.

In 2021 he published “Business Angel Investing” and lectures on the subject at Warwick Business School. He currently serves as Non-Executive Chair of Boku Inc (£626 million market cap) an AIM quoted payments business.
